Job Description:
Under the direction and supervision of the Administrative Director of Clinic Operations, oversee the clinical functions of the NHC scheduling department. Coordinates and assists patients calling into the NHC Scheduling Center to complete patient care needed and delegated projects.
Assumes responsibility for coordinating resources and navigating within the clinics to meet patient requirements. Handle phone calls from the patients who are seeking medical information and/or medical attention. They will be able to schedule appointments as the patient’s condition requires, answer questions, and provide health education. They will be able to educate the patients on the phone who have medical questions.
Provides clinical patient care to patients utilizing the nursing process. Utilizes knowledge of professional nursing practice in providing age-appropriate care based on scientific principles, nursing standards of practice, and standards of patient care for patient populations.
Required Skills:
1. Possesses effective oral and written communication skills.
2. Bilingual required (English/Spanish).
3. Effective patient interviewing and counseling techniques.
4. Ability to read and comprehend English at a level necessary to follow written and oral instruction and safety precautions.
5. Ability to utilize computers for documentation purposes.
6. Ability to negotiate and resolve conflict.
7. Willingness to accept and manage change.
8. Ability to analyze situations and solve problems.
9. Skilled in the use of computer systems and related software applications.
Required Experience:
Work Experience
Three years experience as a Registered Nurse required.
License/Certification
1. Current and active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas.
2. CPR training program required.
Education and Training
Bachelor degree in Nursing required.
