The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Radiology Chair Office , is seeking a Researcher II. The Researcher II position will support the Director of Radiopharmaceutical Quality Assurance and cyclotron facility staff members in preparing the facility for daily operational tasks, including documentation, cleaning procedures, and PET drug production under the appropriate supervision and as outlined in written SOPs and in compliance with FDA and Agreement State requirements.

General Responsibilities
Under minimal supervision:
- To set up and perform routine and established lab procedures in support of lab goals.
- To collect, enter and summarize data.
- To monitor results and report unusual outcomes.
- Performs PET drug Quality Control testing involving sterility, gas chromatography, HPLC, TLC, pH, and other various related test in accordance with FDA requirements.
- Maintains cGMP compliance for cyclotron facility operations.
- Follows site-specific standard operating procedures (SOPs) for facility.
- Understands and contributes to radiation safety protocol and procedures.
- Supports daily production of PET isotopes and the manufacture of radiopharmaceuticals. Provides maintenance and repair of PET Manufacturing production and analytical equipment in accordance with manufacture specifications and cGMP's.
- Performs various clean-up and maintenance tasks as needed.
- Inventory, order, receive and stock production materials.
- Obtains DOT certification for shipping of radioactive materials.
- Works safely with radioactive materials.
- Capable of lifting 50 Ibs . .
- Performs other duties as assigned .
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- OR Associate's degree in a related field and two (2) years of related experience
- OR High School diploma or GED and four (4) years of related experience
