The college is governed by the University of Arkansas System Board of Trustees and a seven-member Board of Visitors and derives its support largely from student tuition and fees and legislative appropriations. UA - Pulaski Tech, a comprehensive two-year college, offers associate degree and certificate programs for students who plan to transfer to four-year colleges and universities and/or for career preparation and advancement. Department: Catering (Main) Department's Website: Summary of Job Duties: • Available Monday-Friday 6:30am-3:00pm with flexibility to work occasional night and weekend shifts to accommodate special events. • Maintain high standards of quality control, hygiene, and health and safety. • Greet and assist customers, take orders and manage the cash register, handling cash and credit card transactions accurately, ensuring the cash drawer is balanced at the end of the day. • Follow open and closing procedures for Bistro service set-up and equipment. • Maintain a clean and orderly front of house, including food service stations, trash and work stations. • Stock and maintain service levels of beverages, cups, condiments and utensils. • Stock and maintain salad bar, grab and go, pizza station and other food stations as assigned. • Checks stock levels for ingredients and paper goods and assist with inventory maintenance. • Ensures all food served is of high quality, properly prepared according to recipe and is expedited to all outlets in a smooth and efficient manner. • Maintains a positive attitude in the execution of duties and displays a high level of commitment to the team and to the job. • Performs other duties as assigned to include all areas of the restaurants, catering rooms, loading dock area, exterior of restaurant, etc. • Must possess professional verbal and written communication skills, be organized and detail oriented, be flexible and adapt to change • Promote the mission of University of Arkansas-Pulaski Technical College. • Other miscellaneous duties as assigned. Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions and recipes One-year experience in institutional cooking or related area or Certificate in Basic Food Preparation from a regionally accredited institution Understanding and commitment to equal access and equal opportunity.
