What are the responsibilities and job description for the Advisor and Academic Services Specialist position at University of Arkansas?
The main responsibility of the Advisor and Academic Services Specialist is to advise prospective and current students. Primary duties include, but are not limited to: new student recruitment; maximizing session enrollment, supporting applicants, advising students throughout their program until graduation, and communicating with staff and faculty to assist with student success.
Regular, reliable and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in public administration, business administration, education administration, or a related field

At least two years of relevant experience in education administration, business administration or a related setting
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in a higher education setting as a student advisor or in a position with knowledge of university systems

Experience working with specific subsets of students such as non-traditional, military, international, or an equivalent
Additional Information:
This position is renewable annually based on continued need for the position, availability of funding, and satisfactory job performance.
