Uafs.eduSummary of Job Duties:The general purpose of this position is to teach Native American, African American, Women's, and general history survey courses. The position reports to Department Head.Qualifications:

Required Education and/or Work Experience: PhD in History or relevant field with college level teaching experience required.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Primary functions of this job are to teach classes in the area of specialization as well as general survey courses.
  • Advise students
  • Maintain an active research agenda
  • Serve as needed on campus committees

Other Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Other duties as assigned

Responsible for maintaining a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner to foster teamwork and by providing leadership to subordinates. Requires consistent on-time attendance.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

To perform the job successfully, the following competencies are required for the essential functions of this position:

  • The ability to function in an academic office environment
  • Good communication skills
