What are the responsibilities and job description for the Graduate Teaching Assistant position at University of Hawaii?
POSITION: GRADUATE TEACHING ASSISTANT, Library & Information Science Program, School of Communication and Information, University of Hawaii at Manoa (UHM), 9-month, half-time, 0.50 FTE, (includes tuition waiver) to begin Spring 2024.
OTHER CONDITIONS: Temporary, position not to exceed June 30, 2024. Renewable annually contingent on satisfactory performance, position need and funding availability. Pending position clearance.
DUTIES: Under faculty supervision, teach and/or assist with LIS courses as needed. Provide instructional support for Zoom and other course delivery modes in consultation with the LIS Program Director, Program Coordinator and faculty. Attend training, debriefing and other meetings as needed. Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Admitted full-time at UHM in a graduate degree program at the time of hire.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Master of Library and Information Science or equivalent from an American Library Association accredited institution. Admitted full-time at UHM in a PhD or other doctoral degree program at the time of hire.
SALARY: $22,140 (annual minimum, Step 12) – applicants in MA; $23,952 (annual minimum, Step 14) – applicants in PhD
