What are the responsibilities and job description for the Prospect Management Analyst I position at University of Iowa Center for Advancement?
Works to identify new prospects who may be interested in giving to the university and assists development staff at the University of Iowa Center for Advancement (UICA) with management of prospect portfolios and pipelines. Gathers, interprets, and presents information that informs fundraising and prospect strategy and helps move prospects through the fundraising cycle.
**Position allows for telecommuting/work from home (up to 5 days per week depending upon business need and leader approval). Candidate must be within driving distance of office located in Iowa City, IA.**

• Portfolio & Pipeline Management: Demonstrates developing knowledge of best practices in portfolio management; utilizes the organization’s table of gifts, prospect ratings and stages of solicitation; facilitates portfolio management/moves management meetings and collaborates with others to support pipeline management and activity; conducts prospect research using relational databases and online research resources.
• Prospect Strategy: Assists with prospect strategy meetings and is aware of fundraising best practices; Employs knowledge of moves management concepts, including basic donor solicitation cycle stages and expectations for activity at each stage; provides a basic level of insight and analysis of metrics and movement for fundraisers/departments/key prospect groups to managers.
• Communication: Builds internal relationships, partners and advocates with departmental, cross-departmental, and organizational staff; exhibits effective verbal and written communication strategies for a variety of audiences.
• Analysis: Queries and pulls data from CRM system and provides descriptive analytics of the prospect pool; leverages BI tools (Excel; Power BI) to transform raw data into useful information that informs fundraising and prospect strategy.

Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree and experience analyzing and synthesizing data into useful insights is required. Good communication skills are required. Experience in a fundraising office and working in relational databases is preferred.
