What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrician III position at University of Mary Hardin-Baylor?
Performs assigned preventive, routine and emergency electrician tasks including testing and repair of campus electrical service equipment, electrical systems, apparatus, electrical and electronic systems of campus machinery. Tests back-up power systems as assigned. Performs on-call duties as assigned. Exhibits exceptional customer service and team skills. Integrates safety procedures into every job task.
1. A high school diploma or GED equivalency is required.
2. A minimum of five (5) years employment experience in electrical maintenance and/or electrical construction is required.
3. Experience working with low voltage to 240V is required.
4. Proficiency in the use of power tools (drills, saws, etc.) is required.
5. Experience working with 480V three phase power is required.
6. Experience testing back-up power systems is preferred.
7. Licensure is preferred (journeyman or master).
8. Experience with motor controls and motor starters is preferred.
9. Experience with low and high voltage lighting controls is preferred.
10. Experience as an electrician in an educational, hospital or similar setting is preferred.
11. The successful completion of OSHA/safety training in PPE, lock-out tag-out and related topics is strongly preferred.
12. Must possess exceptional time management and detail-orientation skills.
13. Must be at least 21 years of age.
14. Must possess a current and valid Texas driver’s license and be “insurable” under UMHB auto coverage.
