The Statistical Analysis of Biomedical and Educational Research (SABER) unit is the data coordinating center for several multi-center clinical trials and observational studies. We are a research center located within the Biostatistics Department at the School of Public Health (SPH) on Michigan's central campus. We are looking for an experienced and dynamic staff member with a commitment to contributing to a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment for all members of our community. You will lead our post-award administration team in addition to managing our operation and administrative functions. You will report to the Director of SABER.

Responsibilities*
- Supervise and manage SABER research administration staff.
- Work with research administration staff to monitor and manage the overall financial state of the projects and staff coverage. Plan, direct and prepare recommendations for fiscal and administrative resource allocation and funding for existing budgets and contracts.
- In collaboration with the SABER Leadership Team, develop SABER policies and oversee the development and maintenance of SABER standard operating procedures.
- Oversee that daily operational activities of SABER are consistent with unit, departmental, and university guidelines
- Oversee purchasing, procurement, expense accounting for SABER infrastructure and projects.
- Recommend, review, and direct human resources actions, such as personnel planning, position descriptions, reporting relationships, classification, compensation, training, onboarding, performance planning, and discipline, assisting SABER supervisors as necessary.
- Coordinate administrative activities with the department of biostatistics.
Required Qualifications*
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 10 years of experience developing and implementing clinical project grants and management tools and processes
- 7 years of experience developing and working with institutional and project budgets
- 7 years of supervisory experience
- Demonstrated ability to summarize process and product data in statistical and progress reports
- Demonstrated experience in writing grants
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, integrate activities, and manage change
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Able to multi-task and manage competing priorities effectively
- Ability to make independent decisions on matters of significance, free from immediate direction, within the scope of responsibilities
- Excellent organization, verbal, written and interpersonal skills are required
