What are the responsibilities and job description for the SYSTEM SUPPORT ANALYST position at University of Missouri-Columbia?
Division of Information Technology
Duties include but are not limited to:
User Assistance:
* Provide superior customer service to our research faculty, staff, and students in person and via remote support tools.
* Answer questions and provide support to research faculty, staff, and students.
* Interact with university staff both in person and remotely.
* Use standard tools for professional communication (email, phone calls, remote sessions).
Device Support:
* Coordinate and track use of IT resources, vet hardware/software purchases, and manage software renewals.
* Serve as an information resource for various devices (Windows, Apple, mobile).
* Troubleshoot desktop computers, printers, laptops, tablets, and other hardware.
Software Support:
* Specialized support for university-approved email applications.
* Second-tier support for approved software and applications.
* Integrate different computing systems as needed.
Consulting:
* Provide one-on-one consulting on operating systems, supported applications, and network connectivity.
* Resolve complex hardware and software issues.
Administrative Tasks:
* Coordinate the actions of different specialty IT groups to resolve various technical issues.
* Plan, test, and implement IT projects to enhance services.
* Ensure compliance with software licenses.
* Stay informed about new products and technologies.
Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm
High school diploma required.
Demonstrated experience and knowledge of computer hardware, software, and operating systems.
Direct customer support in an academic or research environment is highly desirable.
Demonstrated ability to facilitate communication between technical, non-technical, and academic topics.
Salary Range: $15.00 - $25.00 Commensurate with experience
