Job Description Summary
BASIC FUNCTION:
Coordinate the programmatic, administrative, and operational functions essential for the efficient functioning of strategic initiatives regarding research, outreach, and institutional effectiveness initiatives within the Division of Research and Economic Development. Support the Division in the following areas: Plan, develop, and maintain SOPs, resource guides, and policies that have an impact in all facets of research administration; serve as initial point of contact for research-related endeavors across campus; lead program strategy, program management, quality control, and support for the Division; interpret and present data to a variety of audiences; develop and coordinate a contract review process; interface with multiple levels of the organization and external entities to discuss research-related services and processes; establish and maintain collaborative relationship with administrators, faculty, and staff to advise, facilitate, and/or train in the essential elements of research-related activities.

Duties and Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serve as point of contact for researchers/investigators and research staff across the university.
Provide guidance on the appropriate research support office to carry out research-related functions.
Address questions and identify contacts about specific research-related policies or procedures.
Develop and maintain a contract review process and SOP for research-related contracts. Serve as steward and coordinator of Research and Economic Development agreements and contracts, liaising with PIs, Office of General Counsel, and other campus units as appropriate.
Assist with data use agreements and other legal documents working with the proper university officials.
Identify cores and shared research facilities relevant to research on campus.
Oversee updates of manual of operations, SOPs, policies, and resource guides.
Coordinate meetings, phone conferences, minutes, and presentations for research-related activities.
Update, edit, track, and manage the production of a wide variety of reports and publications (hard copy, electronic format, and referencing), under the instruction of the principal administrator, targeting identified audiences, higher education, public-facing, and internal community.
Assist in the preparation of specialized scientific data analysis, and daily assigned projects as needed by the AVPR and VPR.
Supervise and coordinate the work of subordinates.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform other duties relevant to the Division of Research and Economic Development as assigned.
LICENSES, TOOLS, AND EQUIPMENT:
Personal computers, printers, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, InDesign, PowerPoint, Outlook), Endnote, PeopleSoft, IRB.net, Grant support software (InfoEd).

6. Demonstrated computer skills (i.e.; word processing, database management, spreadsheet analysis and electronic mail systems).
7. Demonstrated strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
8. Demonstrated proficiency in written communication skills.
9. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups/populations.
10. Demonstrated presentation skills.
