The Account Receivables Analyst for Student Affairs and Academic Support (SAAS) is responsible for performing professional duties related to accounts receivable and medical/insurance billing process within the Division of SAAS. The division includes Student Affairs, Student Life, Student Health and Well-Being, Student Success, the Residential Experience, University 101 and the National Resource Center for the First Year Experience.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and 1 or more years experience or equivalent education and experience.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Knowledge of general office practices and procedures. Ability to prioritize and organize work to meet deadlines. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively. Experience using medical office software. Working knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 coding, insurance filing, check posting and medical terminology. Excellent communication skills, oral and written. Ability to develop and maintain professional, service-oriented working relationships with patients, physicians, co-workers and supervisors. Ability to work effectively in a patient-centered team environment. Ability to understand and comply with policies and procedures. Ability to work independently in the absence of supervisor and willing to learn new systems and implement new processes in response to change or to improve functions within the department. Ability to adhere to the strictest of confidentiality standards including but not limited to HIPAA, FERPA (etc.).

Accounts Receivable Management:. Analyze, monitor and follow up on accounts receivable. Process payment transactions/remittances related to health insurance claims and pharmacy claims within the electronic health record. Work with the 3rd party billing vendor to ensure accurate and timely transaction processing. Process student account transfers to Bursar’s Office. Provide month end analysis on outstanding claims.

Answers patient’s questions, directs patients to proper resources, assisting with the interpretation of EOBs and or other correspondence from insurance company.
