Position Description
Advertised Job Summary
Under limited supervision, directs, manages, and administers the logistics of programmed and contract conferences and events. Develops, recruits, markets, tracks, evaluates and administers the operation of special events, symposiums and conferences. Manages the rental of the University Conference Center, Barringer House, and Finlay Gardens. Responsible for bid proposals, budgets and program files for accounts in which conferences and events operate. Responsible for recruiting, developing and maintaining new and existing programs.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree and 1 year related experience in business, public administration or administrative services, or bachelor’s degree and 3 years related experience; or equivalency.
Preferred Qualifications
Degree in event management, hospitality, business or related industry. Event management, budget management, and supervisory experience. Knowledge of or ability to learn university policies and procedures.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
The ability to identify, develop and implement programs and activities that will benefit the campus community is necessary, as are strong interpersonal and communication skills. Knowledge of meeting/event planning and relevant/applicable policies, regulations, and laws. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including strong working knowledge of excel. Ability to multi-task, organize and anticipate client needs.
