Coordinator of Specialized Services (Counselor/Case Manager)

The Coordinator of Specialized Services (Counselor/Case Manager) provides comprehensive, evidence-based counseling and psychological services to college students, including assessment, crisis intervention, and individual, couples, and group therapy. This role includes leadership of specialized services, serving as the primary coordinator for the Eating Disorders Consultation Team (EDCT) and supporting collaborative care and couples counseling. The Coordinator works within a multidisciplinary, stepped-care model and provides case management and referral coordination, including higher levels of care.
Primary duties include:
- Develop, implement, and evaluate specialty mental health services using data and research to improve programs.
- Provide evidence-based counseling and crisis services to students in individual, couples, and group settings, both in person and virtually.
- Provide specialized assessment and treatment for students with eating disorder concerns and support participants in the Collaborative Care model.
- Provide case management services, including follow-up support and coordination of on- and off-campus resources and referrals.
- Manage and coordinate the Eating Disorder Consultation Team (EDCT), including meetings, procedures, and consultation on eating disorder care.
- Assist with managing Collaborative Care programs to support coordinated, high-quality care.

Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience
Requires a master’s degree in a job related field and 1 or more years of job related experience.
Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials
Licensed or license eligible as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Independent Social Work in Clinical Practice (LISW-CP), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of South Carolina within 6 months of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least two years post-licensure experience providing direct mental health services, preferably with young adults.
- Experience providing both in-person and online/virtual assessment & counseling.
- Considerable knowledge of professional ethics and the ability to apply to current work.
- Experience working within a short-term treatment Stepped-Care model.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Ability to appropriately assess and intervene in crisis situations.
- Skilled in brief intervention, mental health crisis assessment, and group therapy.
- Ability to assess, diagnose, and treat a broad range of clinical concerns using diverse therapeutic modalities.
- Knowledge of eating disorders and weight-inclusive treatment approaches.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues within a multidisciplinary team.

- Provide a broad range of time-limited counseling and psychological services to students to include individual, couples, and group therapy.
- Provide crisis and emergency services as needed while maintaining awareness of community-wide referral resources.
- Provide case management services for students, including connecting them with appropriate on- and off-campus resources and follow-up support as appropriate.
- Coordinate higher levels of care when needed, such as facilitating referrals to community mental health providers or inpatient treatment and collaborating with clinical staff to support hospitalizations or discharge planning.
- Participate in crisis response coordination by assisting with referrals, communication, and logistics during student mental health emergencies under the guidance of licensed clinical staff.
- Serve as a liaison between students, families, faculty/staff, and community providers to support student well-being and continuity of care.
- Offer consultation to campus partners on how to connect students to mental health and wellness resources.
- Opportunities to engage in outreach and consultation pertaining to developmental, preventative, and mental health topics.
