The Judy Genshaft Honors College at the University of South Florida seeks a full-time Assistant Professor of Instruction. Interests and skills should contribute to the Judy Genshaft Honors Commitments of Engaged Citizenship, Healthy Humanities, and/or Sustainable Futures.
Applicants should be grounded in practice, invested in inventive pedagogy and curriculum development, and have experience teaching high-ability students. Learning in the Judy Genshaft Honors College takes place in seminar-style and/or experiential learning-informed environments. The ability to engage with students from a range of majors and in multiple areas of our curriculum is necessary. A commitment to community engagement, experiential learning, and/or other high impact teaching practices is highly desired, as is a willingness to participate in College programming/student engagement initiatives beyond the classroom. Interests and skills should contribute to the Judy Genshaft Honors Commitments of Engaged Citizenship, Healthy Humanities, and/or Sustainable Futures.
We are interested in individuals whose academic training has equipped them to creatively practice and teach through an interdisciplinary lens. Area of specialization is open, but special consideration may be paid to individuals focusing on professional applications of technology and/or the topics of technology and society, ethics in AI/LLMs, civic engagement, PPEL (Philosophy, Politics, Economics, and Law) and/or sustainability studies.
We are particularly interested in scholars who take a “T-shaped” approach to teaching and learning – a demonstration of a breadth of knowledge, skills, and interests while then applying those diverse approaches to a deep engagement in a particular area of specialization.
Salary highly competitive, depending on qualifications. Start date is August, 2026.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree
- Demonstrable effectiveness as a teacher in higher education
- Ability to teach broadly across the Judy Genshaft Honors College curriculum
- Experience engaging students from a range of majors (from Finance to Graphic Arts, Biomedical Sciences to History) with course content.
- Terminal degree in hand;
- Demonstrable experience with high-ability students
- 3 years of teaching experience in higher education
- Evidence of including high impact practices and experiential learning opportunities in one’s teaching
- Programming and/or leadership experience
