(Cornea & External Diseases Service)

The Department of Ophthalmology/Roski Eye Institute, Keck School of Medicine of USC, is seeking applications for a highly qualified, full-time, non-tenure-track, fellowship-trained, board-eligible, or board-certified cornea and external disease specialist at the Associate or Full Professor level to join the Cornea and External Diseases Service in our department. The successful candidate will have an academic title of Associate or Full Professor of Clinical Ophthalmology.

Qualifications and Experience:


  • Clinician-scientists, clinicians, clinician-educators who are board-certified cornea specialists and at least 5 years out of fellowship training are welcome to apply.
  • Applicants must hold an M.D., M.D./Ph.D., or equivalent degree and have or be eligible to obtain a full, unrestricted California medical license by the time of hire.
  • Applicants should be trained and experienced in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of common and complex ophthalmologic conditions focusing on corneal and external diseases.
  • Interest in clinical, translational, or basic science research with a track record of productive research and the goal of obtaining extramural funding in the future is preferred.


Job Accountabilities/Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):


  • Serves as the Chief of Cornea & External Diseases Service.
  • Provides outstanding clinical care to patients with corneal and external diseases.
  • Demonstrates his or her commitment to clinical, translational, or basic science research.
  • Actively engage in the teaching and mentoring of students, interns, residents, and fellows.


Position Summary and Compensation:

This full-time, non-tenure-track, and exempt faculty position will receive an annual base salary range of $250,000 - $350,000 plus productivity incentives. The annual base salary is dependent on the rank hired into and commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
