Purpose

The Graphic Designer will consult with immediate supervisor to determine the most appropriate method for preparing work to meet production deadlines and may consult with clients on project needs and adjustments.

Additionally, the Graphic Designer will maintain inventory of relevant materials, supplies, equipment and operate equipment (computers, software, cameras and video equipment) in safe, efficient manner. Performs related duties as assigned and able to work on multiple projects concurrently, under pressure of rigid deadlines and time limitations.

Responsibilities

  • Print: signage, brochures, programs, flyers, promo items, research reports, environmental design etc.

  • Digital: social media, identity, ads, presentations, digital graphics, promotional displays, web design etc.

  • Video: editing, social REELS, HR, Dean's message, web, YouTube, etc.

  • Photography: head-shots, portraits, candid, events, etc.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in a field related to the work to be performed.

  • A minimum of 1 year of graphic design and production experience.

  • Must be a creative problem solver with a strong knowledge of Graphic Design principals (typography, color theory, composition, hierarchy etc).

  • Must possess a strong sense of concept development, technical skills and up-to-date knowledge of industry software and design trends.

  • Must show strong proficiency and knowledge of on Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects and Premier).

  • Must be able to work collaboratively or independently.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in design or a design-related area.

  • 2 years of professional experience on a marketing, communications or design/production team.

  • Must be a creative problem solver with a strong knowledge of Graphic Design principals (typography, color theory, composition, hierarchy etc).

  • Must possess a strong sense of concept development, technical skills and up-to-date knowledge of industry software and design trends.

  • Must show strong proficiency and knowledge of on Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects and Premier).

  • Must be able to work collaboratively or independently.

Salary Range

$45,000 depending on qualifications

Employment Eligibility:

Retirement Plan Eligibility:

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
