Salary
Salary Range: $41,817- $46,315 annualized, commensurate with education, experience and qualifications.

Hours per Week
Exempt Position: 40 hours per week.

Essential Functions
Function: Identifies, recruits and contributes to increasing the population of admitted and enrolled students and/or responsible for program development and implementation.
Scope: This position recruits new freshmen and/or transfer students to UTSA and assists with recruiting plans, retention programs and/or UTSA admissions events both on and off campus.

Typical Duties for Level I/II:
  • Travels to high schools, colleges and other learning institutions to recruit prospective students.
  • Manages an assigned geographic territory including high schools, some colleges and other areas across the state.
  • Responsible for counseling & outreach to students and parents on the admission requirements and procedures, and works directly with them to resolve extenuating circumstances, complaints and appeals.
  • Coordinates with high school counselors to facilitate the application process.
  • Manages data, prospects, applicants and recruitment territories through the customer relations management (CRM) system to enhance student relationships, communication timelines and to connect students with other areas of the university.
  • Implements recruitment activities such as application workshops, information sessions and other recruitment projects.
  • Assists with recruiting and outreach of other programs such as UTSA Top Scholar, Honors College, and special retention programs.
  • Cultivates working relationships with university colleges, departments, counselors and advisors to enhance customer service and satisfaction as well as establish community contacts.
  • Represents Undergraduate Admissions and Recruitment in a public-speaking capacity both on and off campus and maintain records of these activities in the CRM.
  • Conducts Financial Aid Information and Outreach presentations.
  • Assists with the committee review reading process.
  • Maintains a high level of working knowledge of university information, organization, opportunities and policies.
  • Reports statistical data on programs, projects, Salesforce cases and travel activities.

Typical Duties for Level II:
  • Serves as a mentor to new admissions counselors, coordinates some travel schedules and assignments and assists with recruiting plans, retention programs, UTSA admissions events both on and off campus and occasional training.

Periodic Duties for Level I/II:
  • Participates in committees on campus.
  • Represents Senior Counselor in campus activities when needed.
  • Participates in strategic planning, assessment and recruitment planning for the department.

Required Qualifications
Level I/II:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Demonstrated organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; organizational skills; ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
  • Standard Office Equipment, Zoom, WebEx and other video communication tools.
  • Extensive travel required with personal car and/or company car.

Level I:
  • One year of full-time equivalent experience in admissions, recruiting, advising or related enrollment and/or student service experience. Master's Degree can substitute for required experience.

Level II:
  • Two years of full-time equivalent experience in admissions, recruiting, advising or related enrollment and/or student service experience. Master's Degree can substitute for one year of experience.

Preferred Qualifications
Level I/II:
  • Master's Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Experience with a customer relation management system (CRM) or communication tool.
  • Knowledge of University/College processes and procedures.

Level I:
  • One year of higher education recruitment experience.

Level II:
  • Two years of higher education recruitment experience.

Working Conditions
This position will be primarily located:

This position is primarily based in DFW with travel in the region and will be required to report to UTSA campus occasionally as needed.

Hybrid-Occasionally: Primarily works remotely, but may work on UTSA campus on an infrequent basis (approximately four days or less per month). Travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility. Applicants must be adaptable and open to working in both environments.

Additional Information
  • This position is primarily based in DFW with travel in the region and will be required to report to UTSA campus occasionally as needed.
  • The position will be classified as a level I/II based upon finalist's qualifications.
