Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled IT Project Manager with a strong background in managing technology initiatives within a higher education environment. This role will lead the implementation of IT projects that enhance academic, administrative, and research operations. The ideal candidate will be adept at coordinating cross-departmental teams, managing stakeholder expectations, and delivering results that align with institutional goals.

Responsibilities

Project Leadership : Plan, execute, and close IT projects that support higher education objectives, including student information systems, research platforms, and administrative systems.

Stakeholder Collaboration : Work with faculty, staff, and administrators to define project requirements and priorities.

Resource Management : Allocate resources effectively and manage budgets for multiple projects.

Technical Oversight : Collaborate with technical teams to ensure projects align with institutional IT architecture and security standards.

Change Management : Address project scope changes while minimizing disruptions to academic and administrative workflows.

Performance Monitoring : Use metrics and tools to track project progress and deliver regular updates to leadership.

Risk Mitigation : Identify risks early and develop strategies to manage them.

Compliance : Ensure all projects adhere to regulatory, accreditation, and IT governance policies specific to higher education.

Continuous Improvement : Evaluate completed projects and implement lessons learned to refine future processes.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) and 4-6 years of experience in the field or in a related area.

Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.

Preferences

PMP , PRINCE2, or Agile certifications would be beneficial

ITIL or higher education-specific certifications are a plus

Experience managing projects in higher education
