The University Of Utah Department Of Neurosurgery is seeking applications for an Assistant/Associate Professor, Track dependent on Qualifications, Critical Care Fellowship-trained Intensivist to join our neurocritical care team. Residency backgrounds in neurosurgery, anesthesia, emergency medicine or internal medicine welcome. Prior experience with neurology/neurosurgery patients is not required. The NCC is staffed 24/7 by intensivists so both day and night coverage will be required.
The Neuro-Critical Care Unit at the University of Utah Hospital is an interdisciplinary group that includes a diverse group of providers (neurosurgery, neurology, emergency medicine, anesthesia), combining research, excellent patient care, and providing residents and fellows with a unique educational environment. The Unit is a Dedicated Neurosciences Unit of 23 Beds with a committed and full time nursing staff and is the busiest ICU in the hospital. There are 6 APCs dedicated to the unit and the intensivists work with medical students and residents of all levels.
The Department of Neurosurgery is a multi-disciplinary department with a commitment to provide compassionate, accessible, high quality, cost effective health care to help the community promote health and to educate healthcare professionals. Successful candidates will be board certified or eligible. They will enjoy collaborating with the clinical care team; participate in ongoing research efforts including national clinical trials, teaching and administrative duties. Salary and academic appointment will be commensurate with qualifications and rank. Academic or Clinical rank is open and will be dependent upon experience and qualifications.
