Job Description
External candidates are eligible for a one-time signing bonus of $5,000. The bonus will be paid out as a $1500 gross pay adjustment in the first pay check; the second installment of $1500 will be paid upon completion of six (6) months of employment; the third installment of $2,000 will be paid after one (1) year of employment of satisfactory service in Facilities Management. Amounts reflect gross pay, prior to applicable tax withholdings and deductions required by law.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Plant Operator executes preventive and corrective maintenance on all facility and building related systems in order to maintain a comfortable, safe and functional hospital environment for patients, visitors and staff. The Plant Operator is responsible for monitoring, adjusting, maintaining, and repairing the boilers, chillers and all related support equipment for the central plant. The Plant Operator must also gain familiarity with other utilities and services such as emergency generators, HVAC systems and the fire protection system. The Plant Operator will act as the facilities point person when regular support staff and management are not on-site.

EDUCATION:
2 Year Technical Degree or High School Diploma with 3 years equivalent experience.
EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of three years of qualifying plant operations or power plant experience. Experience equal to a 3rd class NIULPE Power Engineer, with the expectation of passing the NIULPE Class III exam within one year of employment.
