Job Summary

This position is responsible for identifying, researching, and analyzing potential and current prospects for major gift cultivation and solicitation. This position will directly contribute to the
University's successes by conducting consistently high-quality research and providing excellent interpretation/analyses of gleaned information in order to develop accurate solicitation
strategies. Other constituents in the database will be reviewed as needed for obituary data, returned mail, or contact information verification.

Responsibilities

Collaborates with Development, Alumni, and Constituent Engagement Teams. Regularly collaborates with development staff to evaluate and review prospect statuses and overall fundraising strategies; prepares reports to inform and direct these processes; Advises development staff about current prospects and new prospect possibilities based upon wealth verification and
evidence discovered during research.

Conducts research, analyses, and updates critical data on constituents. Review local and national news and business magazines to stay up to date on prospects. Distribute relevant
items to development personnel and update constituent data. Use numerous platforms to identify deceased constituents and notify staff if they match specific criteria. The organization uses
ResearchPoint (or similar software) to discover and qualify major gift prospects, Blackbaud's Raiser's Edge to collect and save profile data, and cross-references additional applications such as
Nexis for Development Professionals, Banner, and LinkedIn to validate prospect data.

Responsibilities include developing a hierarchy of responsiveness for requests and special projects, performing basic mathematical computations, maintaining donor confidentiality, and adhering to ethical standards set by the University and Association of Professional Researchers for Advancement (APRA). Consults Database Administrator/Prospect Research Analyst to determine the feasibility of research requests and special projects and to develop a hierarchy of responsiveness.

Maintains professional contacts with prospective researchers in the region, participates in national and local groups, increases job-related knowledge, and attends workshops/conferences to
improve processes and job competency.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelors Degree

Required Experience
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of three years of direct prospect research experience.

Preferred Experience
Bachelor's degree in library sciences, computer science, or another related field and research experience in a nonprofit setting is preferred. Knowledge of the following: Blackbaud's
Raiser's Edge, Blackbaud's ResearchPoint, and Nexis for Development Professionals.

Proposed Salary

$21.66 - $24.96 hourly paid on a bi-weekly basis.

Strong analytical abilities and competence in synthesizing and compiling large amounts of biographical and financial information from diverse sources (including IRS filings by foundations and stock holdings details from corporations) into thorough, accurate, and well-organized profiles and research reports. Comprehensive knowledge and use of computer equipment and spreadsheet software applications. Must have excellent organizational skills, manage several projects simultaneously, set priorities, and meet multiple deadlines Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Office Environment - Work normally performed in a typical interior work environment.
