The physicians diagnose and treat retinal-related conditions, including macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachment repair, and other disorders of the retina, vitreous, and macula.

Position Summary

We are actively recruiting for a Clinical Research Assistant to join our growing team at University Retina and Macula Associates.

 

A CRA is responsible for performing procedures and coordinating the execution of clinical trials in accordance with research protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit and screen subjects to participate in trials.
  • Coordinate patient visits and perform procedures related to research.
  • Collect accurate data obtained from research visits.
  • Monitor research participants to ensure adherence to study protocol.
  • Adhere to Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines including regulatory and ethical standards.
  • Maintain relationships with site staff, study subjects, and sponsor delegates.
  • Maintain compliance with all research Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Answer multi-line phone system.
  • Greet patients, check patients in/out during clinic.
  • Ensure patient transportation is set up for upcoming visits.
  • Ensure patient stipends are distributed in a timely manner.
  • Work well alongside CRC, Photographers, and Physicians to ensure EMR schedule is accurate.
  • Make appointment reminder phone calls for upcoming visits. This includes reminding patients of upcoming assessments (extended imaging, blood work, urine samples, etc.)
  • Administrative duties, faxing, and scanning medical records to/from PCP.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:  High school diploma or GED at the minimum.  College degree in the field of science preferred but not required. 

 

EXPERIENCE:  Minimum of one to two years experience in a healthcare or ophthalmology setting preferred but not required.  

 

REQUIREMENTS: Computer skills, customer service skills, ability to travel to other office locations on occasion, ability to stay late or come in early if needed.
