General Summary: Supports the USM Summer Camp theatre camp mission through teaching the assigned courses to lower or middle school campers. Provides innovative instruction to meet a variety of camper needs, in alignment with the program’s curriculum goals. Leads campers towards fulfillment of their potential for intellectual, emotional, social, and physical growth and maturation. Performs complex professional work, while motivating campers to develop skills in the assigned subject area(s).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Provides innovative instruction to meet a variety of camper needs, in alignment with the program’s curriculum goals. Leads campers towards fulfillment of their potential for intellectual, emotional, social, and physical growth and maturation. Performs complex professional work, while motivating campers to develop skills in the assigned subject area(s).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design engaging and age-appropriate lessons and activities that spark campers' creativity and align with their interests and maturity levels.
- Deliver instruction that follows the approved camp curriculum and supports theatrical growth.
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages collaboration, active participation, and self-expression among campers.
- Collaborate with Theatre Camp Director to plan, advise, and implement strategies for camper success.
- Prepare thoroughly for classes, demonstrating thoughtful lesson planning and readiness.
- Establish and uphold clear behavioral expectations to create a focused and inspiring classroom environment.
- Support the camp’s overall goals by contributing to additional tasks as assigned by the Theatre Camp Director.
- Completes other tasks as deemed appropriate by the Administration.
- Strong subject knowledge and instructional best practices
- Skilled in differentiating instruction for mixed-ability groups
- Effective classroom management with diverse learners
- Collaborative team player, especially in production teams
- Excellent communication, writing, and interpersonal skills
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and professional
- Technologically proficient and adaptable
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education or theatre-related field preferred
- WI DPI teaching license in subject area preferred
- 2-4 years teaching/theatre experience
- CPR/AED Certification (obtained in training week if not previously trained)
- Experience in educational technology
