Who are we?
Univision Computers provides Information Technology services to clients primarily in Western Montana. We work for an amazing group of dedicated clients that rely on us to be their IT department and technology leaders. Univision was founded in 1989, and is still owned by the original founders. We are headquartered in a new 2 story office building in Missoula.
What’s it like as a IT Technician at Univision?
IT technicians are many times the first point of contact with customers reporting problems or requesting service. Customers having a great customer service experience is critical, so you have to be great with people on the phone and via electronic means.
Teamwork is not just a buzzword at Univision.

Taking care of the work assigned to you and doing what you say earns you a lot of flexibility. We have a very relaxed but fast paced work environment. . Technicians start their journey at Univision with a detailed onboarding process.
During this time you shadow and are shadowed by experienced teammates that show you the ropes. We believe in progressive responsibility based on ability. The more you learn the more you can do. Initially you will be identifying/triaging problems and working on lower level issues. As your skills increase, you will be given more advanced problems to work on.
Knowledge is key and Univision encourages lots of learning.
Univision will pay for certification exams and we make materials available to help you pass those tests. Everyone at Univision celebrates when someone on the team gets a certification.
Job Duties:
- Serve as the first point of contact for customers seeking technical assistance over the phone or email.
- Perform remote troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions.
- Determine the best solution based on the issue and details provided by customers.
- Walk the customer through the problem-solving process.
- Direct unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel.
- Provide accurate information on IT products or services.
- Record events and problems and their resolution in logs.
- Follow-up and update customer status and information.
- Pass on any feedback or suggestions by customers to the appropriate internal team.
- Identify and suggest possible improvements on procedures.
- Ability to effectively work from home and at one of our office locations across Montana.

Required Skills:
- Knowledge of computers and networking.
- Ability to build and repair computers.
- Microsoft Operating Systems, Office 365, and other software skills.
- Any IT Experience is desirable including working on friends and family’s computers.
- Formal IT training is desirable but not required – College, Certifications etc.
Required Experience:
The IT Technician is an entry level position. We are seeking folks that have technical aptitude, great customer service skills and want to be in the IT Field. We are willing to train if you have the aptitude and drive. IT experience is very desirable, but not required.
This position is an excellent way to get started in the IT field.
