What are the responsibilities and job description for the Occupational Therapist- Temporary Position position at Unlimited Teletherapy?
Must have a Masters Degree and be willing to obtain or currently have NM licensure and pass a background check. We are looking for an Occupational Therapist to cover a school-based caseload, prek-12th, beginning in August. The position will cover 7 weeks from the start date (which may vary due to licensure).
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Evaluating Students: Assess students' abilities and needs in relation to performing functional tasks in the school environment.
- Collaborating with Staff: Work closely with teachers, parents, and other school staff to identify and address issues affecting a student's performance.
- Developing Therapy Plans: Design and implement individualized therapy programs to improve students' ability to learn, play, and socialize.
- Providing Direct Therapy: Offer therapy to students either individually or in small groups to improve gross and fine motor skills, visual perceptual skills, cognitive skills, and sensory processing skills.
- Adapting Classroom Activities: Modify classroom activities, assignments, and materials to support the participation of students with disabilities.
- Environmental Modifications: Advise on modifications to the school environment to make it more accessible for students with disabilities.
- Consulting with Teachers: Provide guidance to teachers on how to implement a student's occupational therapy plan in the classroom.
- Documenting Progress: Keep detailed records of students' progress in meeting therapy goals.
- Participating in IEP Meetings: Take part in multidisciplinary team meetings for the development, review, and revision of a student's Individualized Education Program (IEP).
- Medicaid Documentation-All direct and indirect services must be documented in the District's Medicaid Billing platform.
