The mission of the Department of Family and Community Medicine (FCM) is to improve the health and healthcare of the people of New Mexico and their communities through education, research, patient care, service, population health interventions and health policy development.
FCM seeks to hire a Program Therapist, Sr. to work on research within our Maternal, Child, and Reproductive Health (MCH) program. The Therapists for this study will be seeing participants for therapy sessions, brief post session phone calls and whole day medications sessions. In addition to the therapy there is need for charting and collection of research data. This clinical research which is an innovative treatment for Postpartum Depression using a novel serotonergic compound related to psilocybin. This position is an on-call position which has been written into the budget for a Multicenter, Randomized, Double-Blind, Parallel-Group Dose-Controlled Study Evaluating the Safety and Efficacy of RE104 for Injection in the Treatment of Patients with Postpartum Depression (PPD)
Duties include:
· Therapy sessions conducted in-person and virtual in preparation and for integration of the Experimental Medication sessions
· Full day Psychedelic therapy medication sessions lasting about 8 hours.
- Conducts discipline-specific patient evaluations, assessments, consultations, and treatment, as a member of an interdisciplinary team, in accordance with program protocol and federal and state regulations and guidelines.
· Consult with individual patients, families, and service providers, in a range of settings, to coordinate the provision of care and treatment using the designated research protocol.
· Documentation of study visits, research questionnaires and therapy sessions in REDCap and study folders.
· Follow-up phone calls and emails to study participants.
