About the Position : Up Excellence Academy is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Business Clerk to support the financial and administrative operations of the school. The Business Clerk will play an essential role in tracking finances, processing purchase requests, managing receipts, and maintaining records to ensure efficient and transparent financial processes. Primary Job Functions :

  • Financial Documentation : Maintain accurate financial records, including receipts, reimbursements, and purchase orders.
  • Expense Tracking : Monitor and log expenses related to professional development, classroom needs, and operational costs.
  • Budget Support : Assist in budget tracking and provide regular updates to leadership on expenditures.
  • Purchase Requests : Process purchase requests and maintain a filing system for approvals and receipts.
  • Reconciliation : Reconcile financial records to ensure alignment between invoices, payments, and receipts.
  • Vendor Coordination : Communicate with vendors to ensure timely payments and resolve any billing discrepancies.
  • Reporting : Prepare monthly financial summaries and reports as requested by leadership.
  • Compliance : Ensure all financial practices align with school policies and any applicable regulations.
  • Administrative Support : Provide general administrative assistance to the finance and operations teams as needed.

Qualifications :

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associates or bachelors degree in finance, accounting, or business administration preferred.
  • 2 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting support, or financial administration.
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools (e.g., Excel, Google Sheets, QuickBooks, or equivalent).
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with staff and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience working in an educational or non-profit environment.
  • Familiarity with procurement and expense tracking systems.
