UPMC Hamot is hiring a Patient Care Technician to join the Endoscopy Team!
This role is full-time with daylight hours. Occasional weekend and holiday coverage required.

Responsibilities:
- Provides patient care, assists with procedures and daily activities, physical, respiratory, and cardiopulmonary therapies, and reports changes to the RN.
- Performs core nursing assistant tasks (blood glucose, weights, vital signs, I&O, specimen collections, Foley care) and at least four advanced tasks (phlebotomy, 12-lead EKG, simple dressing, Foley catheter removal, point of care testing, bladder scan, straight catheter, IV catheter removal).
- Reports equipment malfunctions, communicates effectively with other departments, and maintains professional relationships.
- Contributes to unit activities (responding to call lights, passing meal trays, transporting patients).
- Receives feedback constructively, identifies learning needs, improves skills, and participates in self-review.
- Provides patient and family instruction under RN direction, applies/removes restraints per protocol.
- Communicates clearly with the healthcare team, understands cultural diversity, supports workplace safety, and maintains productive relationships.
- Adheres to patient care policies, complies with safety procedures, and documents in medical records.
- Suggests and supports departmental changes, assumes responsibility for assignments, and supports quality initiatives.
- Performs additional advanced skills as needed (phlebotomy/venipuncture, peripheral IV removal, Foley catheter removal, basic arrhythmia, 12-lead EKG, NG tube clamping/removal).
