Responsibilities:
- Actively engages in quality improvement initiatives specific to the department or practice, identifying opportunities for enhancement and collaborating with colleagues and management to drive improvements.
- Takes personal responsibility for enhancing patient satisfaction and the quality of care and service, striving for excellence in all aspects of patient interaction.
- Utilizes research and evidence-based practices to support clinical care improvements, staying current with relevant research and integrating findings into practice.
- Establishes and maintains positive, caring relationships with executives, managers, physicians, non-physician providers, ancillary and support staff, and patients/families.
- Effectively manages multiple priorities and complex tasks within a dynamic environment, demonstrating proficiency with specialized equipment and adapting to changing needs.
- Employs strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills to address various aspects of patient care, leading others in the application of the nursing process.
- Demonstrates mobility and manual dexterity, with the physical stamina to walk, stand, lift, and position patients frequently.
- Applies adult learning principles (or child teaching principles if applicable) to educate patients, families, students, and new staff, providing clear and supportive guidance throughout care episodes.
- Formulates patient care goals and plans collaboratively, considering holistic needs and coordinating with physicians to address clinical, social, safety, psychological, and spiritual issues.
- Engages in professional development, contributing to practice-based shared governance, supporting quality improvement efforts, and adapting flexibly to changes in care processes and environments.
