What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Professional Staff Nurse, (CASUAL) OR, UPMC Memorial position at UPMC?
This is a casual position. During orientation shift is Monday through Friday 070-1530, once off orientation candidate will let leadership know their open availability proving 30 hours within six weeks. No weekday or weekend call is required, but optional and extremely helpful! Unit is closed for seven recognized holidays but must sign up for one major holiday call shift and one minor holiday.
The Professional Staff Nurse OR is a Registered Nurse and a member of the care delivery team. The Professional Staff Nurse OR is responsible to set the standards for the level and quality of care. The Professional Staff Nurse OR has responsibility, authority and accountability for the provision of nursing care. The Professional Staff Nurse OR manages and provides patient care activities for a group of patients and their families through the application of independent judgment, communication and collaboration with all team members. The role of the Professional Staff Nurse OR encompasses leadership, partnership, collaboration and supervision. The Professional Staff Nurse OR establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with physicians, other health care providers, patients and their families, to achieve desired patient outcomes throughout the continuum of care. The Professional Staff Nurse OR demonstrates a commitment to the community and to the nursing profession.
