What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Education Paraprofessional (CG) (AC) position at Upper Perkiomen School District?
TITLE: Paraprofessional
REPORTS TO: Director/Supervisor of Special Education
TERMS: approximately 185 days (student days, plus training days) beginning 2023-204 school year.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 48 College credits, ParaEd Certification and/or willingness to obtain ParaEd Certification.
- Experience with Special Education (and positive behavior management) is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with others as part of a team.
- Must have good organizational skills, maintain confidentiality and be flexible.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Support Students who receive special education services in special education, generaleducation, one to one situations and/or small groups.
- Implement and support individualized positive behavior support plans; provide scheduled reinforcement; utilize de-escalation strategies for highly escalated student behavior.
- Document progress toward the student's goals.
- Support teachers by completing paperwork and clerical duties as required.
- Attend District training session
