UpSlope Advisors is looking for a rockstar Position Description Writer to join our team! This person will work closely with department supervisors to create, modify, and reclassify existing government service position descriptions using the Indigo by Avue Position Classification & Management (PCM).
Responsibilities include:
- Collaborate with department supervisors to input and manage position descriptions (PDs) using the Avue PCM system.
- Assist supervisors in creating and modifying PDs to meet the intended grade and ensure compliance with relevant classification standards.
- Utilize the Avue PCM system to create, document, and classify positions efficiently.
- Track PDs through the completion process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Provide support and guidance on PD development, including defining KSAs, competencies, certifications, and other credentials necessary for optimal performance.
- Ensure compliance with the Merit System and applicable laws. Provide a full range of position classification and position management advisory services to managers, supervisors, and employees.
- Develop, Modify, conduct and/or oversee the presentation of formal training in classification, position management and desk audits.
- Analyze and anticipate potential problems and recommend preventative actions.
- Conduct desk-audits, resolve areas of inaccuracy, determine title, series and grade of positions.
- Research policies, procedures, and operations involved in classification to ensure compliance.
- Applies an understanding of position classification principles, practices, and guidance to classify a variety of positions.
- Writes classification evaluation statements, handles classifications appeals, and determines correct title, series and grade level of positions.
- Provides advisory and consultative services to managers and supervisors on significant position classification/position management problems.
- Originate solutions or develops appropriate interventions for management on significant classification/position management issues and concerns
Qualifications
- Certifications for, or signification experience employing, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Power Platform, and Microsoft SharePoint.
- Ability to create products and presentations that communicate ideas effectively and concisely.
- Strong understanding of Office of Personnel Management position classification and management principles.
- Extensive experience with OPM grade and position classification standards.
- Ability to interpret and apply OPM guidelines to develop accurate and compliant position descriptions.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with supervisors to develop and modify position descriptions.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
