What are the responsibilities and job description for the Infusion Coordinator position at Upstate Cancer Center?
Job Summary
This position will be the main supporting role in the infusion area of Adult Hematology/Oncology Department, providing independent scheduling of infusion procedures, ensuring required testing, prior authorization, orders, and appointments are finalized prior to the applicable infusion appointment date. Will assign patients to specific infusion chairs based on level of acuity and length of treatment. Will monitor of data relative to the utilization of the infusion room and chairs. Acts as a liaison for physicians, clinic staff, infusion room staff, and procedure room staff regarding policies, procedures, and actual schedule information. Works closely with the Patient Service Leader and Patient Service Supervisor regarding clinical prioritization of infusion chairs.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate's degree in Business or Health Related Field and 2 years relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required, plus excellent written/oral communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills required. Working knowledge of computers, electronic medical records, and data processing skills is desirable.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in a health-related setting preferred.
