What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistive Technology Manager position at Upstate Cerebral Palsy?
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Activities include but are not limited to the following
- Supervise Assistive Technology Assistant(s). Responsible for overseeing day-to-day customer service including in office and outreach activities. Perform required duties within budget constraints.
- Establish and maintain a professional relationship with multiple outside agencies and service providers including local Early Intervention Officials to ensure program growth in the required domains of education, community living, employment, and information technology and/or telecommunications.
- Provide monthly program reports and complete with quarterly reports.
- Responsible for completing and submitting evaluation and training reports. Assistive/rehabilitation technology evaluations must clearly describe how the device or service will address functional limitations in terms of participation in training and/or employment outcomes.
- Maintain accurate records of customer contacts (phone calls, demonstrations, loans, outreach activities) assistive technology evaluation and training services, and mailings according to Justice Center and ACCES-VR guidelines.
- Implement follow-up procedures and customer satisfaction surveys.
- Ensure maintenance, cleaning and tracking of equipment; including obtaining supplies necessary for equipment maintenance.
- Ensure safety of adaptive equipment prior to loaning.
- Develop and implement quality and efficiency procedures.
- Act as the primary contact person for volunteers within the program and coordinate marketing activities.
- Conduct presentations to individuals, groups, students and professional organizations on assistive
- technology and TRAID services, assistive technology evaluation to ensure quality and timeliness as required by grant guidelines.
- Adhere to grant guidelines as outlined by the NY State Justice Center, NYS ACCES-VR and other funding sources and participate in activities to expand the scope of the program including gathering information to support grant writing.
- Responsible for completing evaluations to determine the practicality and effectiveness of using rehabilitation technology.
- Ability to identify and indicate assistive devices and related services. It encompasses recommendations for types of rehab technology, specifications, advantages of potential options, and the cost/benefits of those options.
- Coordinate referrals, intakes, service delivery and billing with Upstate Employment Associates staff and ACCES.
- Attend monthly finance meetings to review budget status.
