What are we looking for?
We are seeking enthusiastic and self-motivated Emergency Medical Receptionist to join our Client Relations team. The Emergency Medical Receptionist is the clients’ (both pet owners and referring veterinarians) first impression of the practice, on the phone or in person, making it a critical role in our hospital.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Quickly and accurately input client information for emergency visits.
- Guide clients through financial decisions and applying for financing options available
- Gather and organize medical records for pets coming through the Emergency service as needed, especially outside the hours of the Medical Records Department.
- Answer incoming phone calls and address emergencies or other inquiries as needed.
- Prepare all appropriate paperwork needed for Emergency appointments
- Assist clients through the euthanasia process, discuss cremation options as well as complete necessary paperwork for these services.
- Be able to identify the main kinds of STAT cases that come through our Emergency Service and notify medical staff of STAT situations.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in Veterinary or Human Medical field
- Must be able to multitask while remaining professional, focused, composed and positive.
- Must be able to establish an appropriate and effective rapport with patients, co-workers and medical staff.
- Excellent customer service skills and must display integrity, friendliness and compassion.
- Basic computer skills
Schedule: Thursday through Saturday, daytime hours
