Reports to (direct): Director of the After Care Program
Reports to (indirect): Chief Academic Officer
Hours: Part-Time / 3:00 - 5:30pm (M, T, W, & F); 2:30 - 5:30pm (Th)
Compensation: $16.38 per hour

The Organization
For over 50 years, Urban Community School (UCS) has served Cleveland’s near west side children by providing an individualized, innovative, and challenging education. Rooted in the Ursuline Sisters’ tradition of faith, character, and educational excellence, UCS engages our faculty, families, and community partners in the successful whole child development of students. UCS serves nearly 800 students from 6 weeks old - 8th grade using restorative practices and conscious discipline. Seventy-six percent of our families are economically disadvantaged. The growing campus in Ohio City is home to The MetroHealth System, Urban Squash Cleveland, USA Lacrosse, The Refugee Response and Facing History and Ourselves. Duties and Responsibilities

• Build a strong sense of community and culture aligned to the mission, vision, and values of Urban Community School.

• Work collaboratively with colleagues to plan and coordinate daily programming that is educational and recreational.
• Lead and support students as they participate in age-appropriate activities.
• Actively supervise students to ensure student safety at all times.
• Communicate with parents/caregivers, staff members, and administration regarding the student experience and regularly share updates with families to keep them informed and celebrate student success.

• Develop routines, systems, and procedures to support student safety and a positive environment.
• Update all records accurately and completely as needed and as required by laws and school regulations.
• Use restorative practices and conscious discipline framework to support student development.
• Participate in training programs as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills and Beliefs

• Detail-oriented with outstanding organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Resourceful with the ability to work independently.

Education, Experience, and Requirements

• Previous experience working with students.
• Proficient in Restorative Practices and Conscience Discipline preferred.
