Position Overview
We are seeking a School Attendance Coordinator who will support the educational success of homeless students by managing attendance data, providing technical assistance to EHU (Emergency Housing Unit) facilities, and addressing barriers to academic achievement. This individual will play a crucial role in fostering collaboration among schools, families, and community services to improve the attendance and academic performance of homeless students in Westchester County.
Core Responsibilities:
- Request and maintain school records, including attendance, report cards, transcripts, IEPs, and immunization records, while developing and maintaining a tracking system for academic performance.
- Analyze attendance and academic trends to identify students needing targeted intervention and support.
- Support EHU facilities and other stakeholders in addressing educational barriers and enhancing outcomes for homeless students.
- Work closely with school district attendance officers, families, and community services to ensure effective communication and intervention strategies.
- Compile, evaluate, and report statistical data to monitor program outcomes and improve service delivery.
Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree in a related field.
- Bilingual with experience providing technical assistance or working with schools preferred; strong data management and reporting.
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
- Experience compiling, evaluating, and reporting statistical data.
- Ability to interact positively with service providers, schools, and families.
- A valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
