Objective of Role LaSalle is seeking to identify a Senior Investment Professional to join their US real estate team, serving as a member of the LaSalle Value Partners US (“LVP US”) business. This leader will be responsible for driving value-add and opportunistic investments across the LVP US real estate fund vehicles and may also contribute towards new investments for the firm’s broader comingled funds and separate account strategies. With a national geographic focus, the Senior Professional will take a thematic approach to developing investment strategies, sourcing joint venture partners, presenting, evaluating, and closing a diverse range of investment opportunities. The successful candidate will report into the President of LaSalle Value Partners US (Head of Value-Add Funds) and work closely with the Head of US Transactions. Key responsibilities include: Serve as a senior member of the LVP US Fund team, focused on sourcing and executing value-add / opportunistic investments as well as programmatic partnerships in conventional and niche / emerging sectors. Take a leadership role in developing and assessing investment ideas for LaSalle’s value-add initiatives as well as executing on them through individual opportunities and joint ventures. Collaborate closely with senior members of Transactions and Research to formulate new investment strategies to complement existing portfolio. Partner with members of the Transactions team who cover specific sectors and markets to identify and execute on high return investments in those segments and markets. Collaborate with the Transaction team to work nationally across markets and sectors. Outside of acquisition responsibilities, partner with the LaSalle Value Partners US (“LVP US”) team to: a) help develop new investment products and strategies, b) opine on major asset management decisions for Fund assets and c) contribute to capital raising efforts and investor meetings. Play a key role in mentoring and helping train junior team members on both the transactions team and LVP US team. Candidate Profile The Senior Investment Professional will have a track record of success in sourcing and executing value-add and opportunistic real estate investments. With a minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience coming from a real estate investment manager or private equity platform, the successful candidate will bring both market credibility and a proven ability to champion new investment strategies. They will be a highly motivated, self-starter, with a collaborative approach and high degree of integrity. Specific experience and qualifications include: Proven track record of sourcing, underwriting, and executing high returning equity transactions. Investment experience across multiple sectors and strategies as well as preferably across different areas of the capital structure. Experience sourcing and structuring joint ventures and programmatic ventures. Independent thinker with creative idea generation. Ability to develop and execute on investment theses and adept at studying and executing on new ideas and sectors. Credible industry relationships with a strong network of partners, sellers, and advisors that can be leveraged for transaction flow. Exceptional business analytics and quantitative skills. Ability to analyze debt and platform balance sheets (i.e.: relevant for co-GP investing). Some distressed credit background, ability to structure preferred equity and underwrite an NPL. Capable of analyzing corporate credit. Possesses good judgment to consider relative value. Able to differentiate the good vs. bad on the high return side. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Dedicated, collaborative team player with a strong sense of ownership and an ability to mentor and manage junior team members. Possess a hands on approach with an ability to roll up one’s sleeves and dive into the details to ensure successful transactions and investment outcomes. Strong interpersonal skills necessary to interact with leaders across all levels in the firm. Bachelor's degree in finance, business or related field; preferably real estate emphasis.
