Job Title Director, Product Development Overview: Mastercard Transaction Services (MTS) provides Mastercard’s regulated payment services capability, enabling Mastercard to offer previously un-addressable licensed and regulated domestic and international payment products. We operate the regulatory compliance for our global Money Transfer business and are extending our services and licenses to include digital asset/crypto activities – we are applying for a BitLicense in NY. MTS Product Enablement leads MTS engagement with regulated Mastercard Product lines, enabling new regulated products to launch, existing products to expand into regulated activities and to respond to increased regulation. The Director, MTS Product Enablement, will focus on engagement with our Digital product lines and successfully securing NYDFS approval of our Crypto Settlement Solution BitLicense application which also includes effective operational readiness of a compliant day 1 solution and on-going commercialization. The Director, MTS Product Enablement will also support other strategic product engagements. Role: A best fit candidate for the role would have worked in the digital assets industry with crypto experience, have been involved in securing and/or operating under a BitLicense previously, may have a consulting background and now wants to take a complex leadership role in establishing the operational capabilities required to securing ours. The role is a key member of the MTS Product Enablement team. The Director will focus on the Digital Product line (Crypto) and specifically on securing final approval of our NYDFS Crypto Settlement Solution BitLicense application. Leadership of the MTS cross functional program team, addressing inquiries from the regulator, ensuring integrity of the cross functional solution design, and regulated operational implementation. A consultant and partner to the Digital Product Line, shaping products and supporting the strategy of leveraging MTS to enable our expansion of Mastercard’s crypto services, ensuring compliance with the applicable regulations. Ensure Product and MTS operational readiness for a compliant day 1 service launch. Develop the MTS product platform eco-system roadmap, prioritizing longer term investment against immediate demand and reuse of existing assets, to maximize impact, efficiency, and ease of adoption of the MTS capabilities. Champion and advance the MTS strategic vision, developing product line opportunities to expand into new payment flows, creating differentiation relative to our competition for Mastercard. All About You: Experience with Digital Assets, specifically Crypto products and services, as well as other regulated payments. Experience designing and managing technology enabled products, services and operations; development and execution of a product or business strategy. Knowledge of FX, treasury and financial crimes compliance solutions a benefit. Solid understanding of competitive offerings and industry trends, especially how regulation is impacting the payments industry at both the local and global levels Superior communication, presentation and interpersonal skills including the ability to work with and influence colleagues at all levels. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to bring components together and assess cross-functional impact Self-motivated with a proven track record of delivering success while working within a matrixed and team environment. Exhibits tenacity, attention to detail, encourages healthy debate and challenges conventional thinking. Bachelor’s degree in business, technology or equivalent degree. Project management, operations, and/or delivery experience a plus.
