Essential Functions

- Ensure our facility is compliant to the appropriate guidelines
- Ensure organization is audit ready for CLIA/CAP/CMS
- Liaison with Clinical Laboratory Director and lead the charge with building our clinical testing group
- Identify and resolve problems that may adversely affect test outcomes and either correct the problem or report it immediately to Medical Director.
- Generate and archive reports for corrective action performed in laboratory, if necessary.
- Write and follow written SOPs as well as be able to identify and gap fill missing procedures, if necessary.
- Perform competency analysis for laboratory staff, including CLSs and MLTs.
Competencies
- Current California Clinical Laboratory Scientist license
- Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Must be detail-oriented and comfortable with technology
- Must have good written and oral communication skills
- Working knowledge of handling potentially infectious human blood and body fluids
- Good pipetting skills and understanding of aseptic techniques
- Ability to work with automated and manual platforms
- Analytical judgment, problem solving skills, accuracy and strong attention to details
- High level of integrity and honesty in performing tests, documenting test results and maintaining patient, client, employee and laboratory business confidentiality
- Must have strong critical-thinking skills and the ability to prioritize workflow in a high-throughput laboratory environment.
- Proven track record with CLIA/CAP/CMS audit preparedness
- Mass spectroscopy experience is a big plus
- National Certification as MLS (ASCP) or MT (ASCP)
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
