What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hyperbaric Oxygen Tech position at US Wound Care & Hyperbaric Centers?
Definition of Care of Service:
The Hyperbaric Oxygen Technologists monitors and controls the pressure inside a hyperbaric chamber. They assist medical staff as required while maintaining the necessary pressure in the chamber.
The scope of service may include:
- Performs duties under supervision of the Program Director, Clinical Coordinator and/or Safety Director as is appropriate for the facility.
- Monitors and observes HBOT Patients.
- Operates the hyperbaric oxygen therapy to the hyperbaric patient in a safe and effective manner.
- Delivers hyperbaric oxygen therapy to the hyperbaric patient in a safe manner.
- Demonstrates Clinical and Service excellence behaviors to include code of HCA conduct core fundamentals in daily interactions with patients, families, co-workers and physicians.
Qualifications:
- High School degree or GED
- Completion of a course in Hyperbaric Medicine in compliance through the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society (UHMS) or National Board of Diving and Hyperbaric Medical Technology (NBDHMT) Hyperbaric Medicine Training Course
- American Heart Association health care provider BLS Certification

Preferred Experience:
- Previous Hyperbaric Tech experience preferred but not required.
- Respiratory Therapy
- Corpsman (Military)
- Medical Services Specialists
- EMT-Basic or Paramedic
- LPN or LVN
- RN
- Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA)
- Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA)
- Certified Hyperbaric Technologist (CHT)
- Certified Hyperbaric Registered Nurse (CHRN)
- Physical Therapist
- Physical Therapist Assistant
- Due to nature of business and role, Covid-19 vaccination is required
