What are the responsibilities and job description for the Member Relationship Specialist II position at USC Credit Union?

USC Credit Union is looking for a Member Relationship Specialist for its New Member Accounts team within its Digital Experience Department. This position reports directly to the Digital Experience Manager and is responsible for responding to prospective and existing members through digital channels, including contacting, building, and fostering relationships with USCCU’s members and potential members. The Member Relationship Specialist gathers and analyzes member data at the time of each interaction to respond to inquiries and offer customized solutions using in-depth knowledge of USCCU products, services and technologies.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Consistently meeting established performance standards and member service standards

  • Efficiently process a high volume of new accounts, acquiring all necessary documentation from members, and monitoring all member transactions for suspicious activity and potential fraud

  • Developing and deepening member relationships by providing high-quality consultative service that identifies member needs and matches those needs with value-added USCCU products and services

  • Completes individual membership applications; reviews consumer information from various reporting agencies, analyzes documentation, and approves or declines applications. Sets up accounts on core system.

  • Processing member transactions efficiently, accurately, and in a timely manner. Includes deposits and withdrawals, loan payments, new account applications, lending applications, and all related documentation.

  • Participates in business development events and acts as a credit union ambassador both in and outside of the branch.

  • Ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulatory requirements, policies and procedures as they relate to USCCU’s products and services

Compensation:

The hourly rate range for this position is $20.08 - $22.50. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.

Minimum Education: High school or equivalent Minimum Experience: 1 year Minimum Field of Expertise: Previous experience in sales, retail or financial institutions (operating in a sales-driven environment) with proven track record of meeting production/sales goals. Must be familiar with Word, Excel and Outlook. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills. Has effective organizational skills. Utilizes effective sales techniques with limited supervision. Able to consistently meet or exceed established performance goals in a financial services environment.
