Accounts Receivable Specialist

JOB DESCRIPTION:  

A successful accounts receivable specialist will build positive relationships with clients in order to continuously have up to date information on the status of clients’ accounts. They will continuously push clients for payment of past dues and seek to understand when a client is unable to make their payments, in order to obtain a resolution.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Process incoming cash (ACH, checks, credit cards) daily, and reconcile against bank accounts to ensure accuracy
• Provide invoices and account reconciliations to Clients with necessary backup to support account balances including past due invoices, skipped invoices, bounced checks, short payments, etc.
• Point person for collections efforts, including but not limited to calling Clients, sending invoices, demand letters, etc.
• Work directly with our contracts team to effectively research, track, and resolve accounting or documentation issues/discrepancies to ensure accurate billings reflected on accounts
• Conduct weekly meetings with Manager regarding status of accounts receivable, along with quarterly meetings with Leadership
• Assist finance team with projects and ad hoc requests
• Complete other tasks and ongoing training assigned by Manager

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Accounting/Finance internship experience preferred
• Bachelors’ Degree in Accounting/Finance or similar preferred
• Must have a strong work ethic, be well organized and a self-starter
• Detail oriented, professional attitude, reliable
• Proficiency with Excel, Outlook and Word a must
• Ability to interact with employees, clients and vendors in a professional manner both verbally and written
• Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
