Minimum Requirements:
- At least three years prior underwriting experience in Commercial Property & Casualty, Personal or Management & Professional Liability lines,OR
- At least five years prior business experience. Successful candidates have had prior business experience in the following industries:
- Non-underwriting insurance experience, such as sales, claims handling
- Financial services, such as banking, mortgage underwriting, financial consulting, asset management, business analyst
- Legal services, such as attorney, paralegal
We are looking for people who can think, make good decisions and communicate clearly. Candidates must be positive, self-motivated team players with strong analytical skills and have the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-based environment.
Underwriters are responsible for the selection and pricing of new business risks in accordance with company underwriting guidelines and service promises in addition to developing and maintaining relationships with customers in order to drive submissions and achieve company goals. The successful candidate must embrace our underwriting model, exhibit critical thinking in all facets of the role and be able to articulate our products and value proposition to customers, as well as train and coach other underwriters as needed.
Candidate may be required to travel overnight and/or locally as required to maintain customer visitation schedule.
Salary range of $70,000 - $125,000.
