Job Summary
The Coastal Ecology and Seagrass
Biology Lab in the School of Ocean Science and Engineering at The University of
Southern Mississippi seeks a postdoctoral researcher with expertise in seagrass
biology and ecology for studies to include trends in seagrass distribution and
condition over time; reproductive ecology and physiology; and restoration. Individuals
with experience understanding seagrass ecosystems, with specific knowledge of
biology and ecology, are encouraged to apply.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Engage in a project studying trends in seagrass distribution and condition over time, reproductive ecology and physiology and/or restoration.
- Develop expertise in seagrass biology and ecology and contribute new knowledge and ideas to this area of research.
- Participate in planning and executing field work in nearshore seagrass ecosystems in the Gulf of Mexico.
- Contribute significantly to written and oral communication, including the development of peer-reviewed manuscripts, reports, website content, and public outreach products.
- Participate in student mentoring, and perform other duties as assigned by
the study PI.
Salary : $58,000 - $70,000
