The Education Coach position earns a competitive wage of $46K/annually. SUMMARY
The Education Coach is responsible for supporting teachers' ongoing professional development; for the implementation of teaching practices; and focuses on improving teachers' use of evidence-based teaching practices to support children's progress towards school readiness goals.
An Education Coach needs to be familiar with Creative Curriculum for Preschool Sixth Edition and Digital Curriculum Resources, TSG Online Assessment System, TSG Fidelity Tool for Administrators, CLASS, The Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework, The Head Start Parent, Family, and Community Engagement (PFCE) Framework, ECERS-3/ITERS3, and the Utah State Early Learning Standards.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Family and Consumer Studies, or in a related field with an emphasis in Early Childhood essential topics.
- 1 year of Head Start/ Early Head Start related experience required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Four years early childhood or related experience.
- Coaching in ECE certificate.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish).
OTHER JOB DUTIES
- Collaborates with the Education Team for support of teaching staff using the Practice-Based Coaching system.
- Conducts Individualized Professional Development regular classroom visits to observe and document staff implementation of ECE best practice, provides feedback, reflects and models effective teacher practices, provides ongoing guidance, and Professional Development plans.
- Models effective teacher practices and approaches for engaging children to improve Social/Emotional, Physical Development, Cognitive, Language and Literacy Development.
- Supports teaching staff with the implementation of the Creative Curriculum for Preschool Sixth Edition and Digital Curriculum Resources, based on the observation of the Teaching Strategies Fidelity Tool for Administrators.
- Participates in ongoing Professional Development by keeping up-to-date on current research and trends, attending trainings, workshops/conferences, and incorporates regular personal reflection on coaching practices related to the Coaching Competencies.
- Maintains a system of tracking and monitoring individualized goals and to provide Individualized Professional Development resources and training for teaching staff.
- Collaborates with Mentor Teachers, Mentor Assistant Teachers and attends a monthly mentor coach meeting.
- Maintains CLASS Reliability and conducts Fall and Spring CLASS observations for all Head Start classrooms.
- Represents the agency in a professional manner and maintains confidentiality.
