JOB DESCRIPTION:
Provides basic physiologic and psychosocial care, together with safety measures and environmental care, for mentally ill patients in an in-patient setting under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Documents every 15 minutes on patient condition, and communicates immediately to nursing or medical personnel any change in patient condition.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. Must have knowledge and understanding/ability to work with mentally ill patients.
3. Knowledge of growth and development across the life span, ability to use that knowledge to individualize the plan and delivery of care.
4. Must have the ability to notify the RN in case of an emergency and dial 200 to report any emergency under the direction of the RN. Will assist as able in the event of an emergency.
5. Ability to learn simple documentation and medical terminology utilized
