JOB TITLE:
Project Coordinator, Senior
JOB PURPOSE:
Coordinate and manage the operational, programming, and day-to-day functions in support of the Veterans Services Center mission supporting Military, Veterans, and Military Families enrolled at the University of Wyoming.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop, coordinate, and implement VSC sponsored programs, activities, and events, under limited supervision.
- Manage VSC events calendar, communicate with other UW and off-campus agencies to coordinate VSC activities.
- Provide advice and counsel to military connected students and families regarding veterans education benefits, college admissions, course enrollment, academic success practices, and provide accurate veterans resource information and referral.
- Represent the VSC on various campus and community boards, committees, and councils as VSC and student veteran representative and advocate.
- Develop and maintain close consultation with campus cohorts to determine and address systemic concerns/issues affecting student veterans and advocate on their behalf with UW Administration, Faculty, Staff, and non-UW agencies, if needed.
- Assist VSC Directorin in other high-level duties, such as co-presenting during meetings, seminars, and presentations highlighting the mission, work, and achievements of the VSC; liaison to the Veterans Administration and other agencies to promote various programs and services offered; planning and implementation of various new student orientations and first year academic programming; assist with the management of various scholarships assigned to the VSC for management and distribution.
- Assist in developing the annual VSC Operations Budget and monitor daily budget activities. Responsible for developing and implementing the VSC annual Giving Day campaign; and assist VSC Director in sustaining donor relationships, donor meetings, reporting, and achieving annual donation goals.
- Assist VSC Director in the hiring, supervision, and training of VSC student staff and tutors.
- Manage VSC marketing, social media, email distribution lists, VSC webpage, and campus/community communication newsletters to ensure timely and accurate dissemination of VSC events, activities, and information.

REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY:
This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field; or equivalent combination of education & experience.
Experience: 3 years work-related experience, including administration, supervision, and counseling experience - military experience preferred but not required.
Required licensure, certification, registration or other requirements:

Valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) that is compliant with the University Vehicle Use Policy.

This position involves on-call status.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Proven knowledge and understanding of military culture, veterans benefits, and veterans' transitionary challenges and best practices, especially as related to academia.
Military service preferred, but not required.
Supervisory experience.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Prior experience with front-line and/or customer service practices.
