Audit/Tax Internships

Our small firm is made up of roughly 35 employees and has two physical offices we operate from, with our main location being in Frisco and the second office in Tom Bean.

All levels of our staff enjoy a fun, hands-on, fast-paced, and technically challenging environment, which is specifically catered to and evolves with their continuing on-the-job training and expertise. Our firm utilizes the latest and greatest technology and values a progressive outlook on providing premier tax accounting and audit services to our clients. We have employees with over 50 years of accounting experience and a total of 10 CPAs working within our firm. We believe in promoting from within and we are always looking for ways to elevate our employees with professional development opportunities.

Job Description Responsibilities & Objectives:

• Understand the rules, regulations, and code of professional conduct of the AICPA.
• Obtain exposure to the types of audit engagements performed by the Firm.
• Become familiar with the Firm technology, tax software, and time and billing software.
• Become familiar with the Firm standards for audit working paper preparation.
• Obtain a general knowledge of the practice of public accounting and providing client services.
• Obtain necessary CPE (Continued Professional Education) for audit projects assigned to you.
• Perform other duties as assigned at times by the staff accountants, senior accountants, managers, or partners.

Skills / Qualifications / Experience:

• Currently pursuing (or recently graduated with) a degree in accounting, finance, business, or other business-related field.
• GPA of 3.5 or higher
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management at all times.
• Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work well in a team environment; and willingness to learn new skills.
• Strong organizational skills; ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously; and keep track of deadlines.

Software Knowledge:

• Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
• This position provides the opportunity to gain skills and knowledge within the ProSystem Fx Engagement, PPC, and Advance Flow accounting software.
• TeamViewer, Zoom, and/or other remote access technology

Physical setting:

• Office – 2 locations available Frisco and Tom Bean Texas

Schedule:

• We work with all interns in coordinating with your current school's academic schedule
• Monday to Friday – 20 – 25 hours (non-busy season)
• Monday to Friday – 25 – 30 hours (busy season)
